The ship of lost souls

From a distant shoreline, he waves back
a goodbye to the souls which once lost track
A hello to the ones which once more are dead
we try to deny it, silently shaking our heads

With shattered eyes, he is asking us to forgive
that he has to go, when he just has made us live
Still, we keep rowing his ship of lost souls
asking him to take us back to the shore

He listens to our echoes, calling out his name
But it doesn't matter, he knows it will never be the same
He turns around, and walks away into the night
leaving a memory of a saint dressed in white

The sky turns dark, and our ship begins to sway
once more we find ourselves lost along the way
The lost souls have become a far too heavy overweight
so t
he ship turns over, and it is now too late

A wreck of a ship is lying at the bottom of the sea
If you look closer, you will see it's lying next to me.
